The problem
With Winkle
The problem
Scheduling eats weeks
Finding a slot for every first round slows everything down.
One link each. Candidates start when they're ready.
The problem
Every interview differs
Different questions for each candidate make fair comparison hard.
Everyone answers the same questions, scored against the same rubric.
The problem
Notes aren't evidence
A gut feel written afterwards is hard to check or share.
A recording, a transcript and a reasoned score for every answer.
How it works in Winkle.
- 01
Build the interview
From a role, a list of skills or a job description. Winkle drafts the questions.
- 02
Make them yours
Edit, reorder or write questions yourself, then publish.
- 03
Candidates take it any time
Spoken or typed answers, in the language you choose, from one link.
- 04
Every answer scored
Each answer gets a score with the reasoning behind it.
- 05
You decide
Watch the recording, read the scores and flags, then advance or not.
The clock only counts the answer.
The interviewer reading the question out, and a moment to think, are free. The time limit you set is all theirs to answer in.
One clock for everything
Reading and thinking come out of the limit. 85s left to answer.
Winkle
Reading and thinking are free. All 2:00 is theirs to answer.

Example: a two-minute limit and a question that takes 20 seconds to read out.
Every score shows what earned it.
Each answer is marked against its rubric: a score, correct, partial or wrong, and the reasons in plain words. Point at a rubric line to see the words behind it.
Question 4 · scenario
A retry charged a customer twice after a timeout. How would you stop that happening again?
What they said · transcript
I’d make the charge endpoint idempotent: the client sends a key with every attempt, and the server stores the first result against that key, so a retry gets the same answer back instead of a second charge. I’d also add an alert for when retries spike.
Partial
Scored against the rubric
Covers idempotency keys and replaying the stored result, two of the three rubric points. It never says how long keys are kept, so a very late retry could still charge twice.
Illustrative. Invented answer.
Pick the voice that asks.

What you get.
Spoken or typed
Choose how candidates answer, and pick one of six interviewer voices.
11 languages
English, French, Portuguese, Arabic, Swahili and more.
A reason per score
Every answer is scored against a rubric, with the reasoning shown.
Integrity flags
Leaving the tab and looking away are noted for you to check. They never reject anyone.
Timed, on their time
Per-question time limits, taken whenever the candidate is ready.
Your team sees it all
Teammates review the same recording, answers and scores in Winkle.
Does reading the question eat into the time limit?
No. The limit you set is for answering. The interviewer reading the question out, and a moment to think before they start, are given free.
Do I see the questions before candidates do?
Yes. Winkle drafts them and nothing goes out until you publish (or, for a quick screen, press Send). You can edit, remove or add questions first.
Is the recording analysed by AI?
No. The recording is kept for you to watch. The answers are scored from what was said, and the browser notes if the candidate leaves the tab or looks away, as flags for you to check.
Can candidates answer in another language?
Yes. Interviews run in 11 languages, including English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Hindi and Swahili. You choose when you build it.
