How Winkle uses AI

AI does the reading. You decide.

Where AI works in Winkle, and where it stops.

  • It recommends. You decide.

Advance, hold and reject are a person's call.

  • Every score has a reason.

Graded against a rubric, with the reasoning shown.

  • Flags, never verdicts.

Integrity signals are timestamped for you to check.

  • Candidate text is data.

Hidden instructions in a CV are walled off and flagged.

Where it works. Who has the last word.

If you're the candidate

  • Your score stays private

Employers may share strengths and areas to grow. Never the number.

  • Results don't travel

Only a verified skill moves between companies, with where and when.

The models behind it

Claude, by Anthropic

Reads and writes text

OpenAI

Speech to text, interviewer voice

Questions, answered.

The longer answers, from how Winkle actually works.

  • Does the AI reject candidates?

No. It reads, scores and explains, and a person makes every rejection. Employers can switch on rules that act on the fit score; a rule can suggest rejecting someone below a threshold, but nothing happens until a person on the team confirms it. And if you are rejected, you can ask for a person to review the decision.

  • Is my interview video analysed by AI?

The recording isn't. It is kept for the employer to watch. While the interview runs, your browser checks on your own device whether a face is in view and whether you are looking at the screen, and notes it as a flag. Flags never reject anyone on their own, and nothing tries to read emotions.

  • Can candidates see their AI scores?

Not for an employer's test or interview; the score is the employer's. An employer can choose to share strengths and areas to work on. Practice interviews you run for yourself show you your score and the reasons.

  • Which AI does Winkle use?

Claude, by Anthropic, for reading and writing text. For spoken interviews, OpenAI turns speech into text and gives the interviewer its voice. They receive the text or audio needed to do that job.

  • Can hidden text in a CV trick the AI?

Candidate text is walled off from the AI's instructions, which stops the common tricks. In CV screening a suspected attempt is flagged to the employer and the score is held down. No defence is perfect, which is why a person makes the call.

See it on your roles.
